Guest Strip by Steve Napierski

Okay, the guest strip celebration of Dueling Analogs‘ 4th anniversary is officially over. I got a bunch of emails from you guys asking when it was going to be done. Well, the answer is now. You know, I had the guest strips run three times per week rather than the normal two per week as a kind of special treat so that you guys would say, “Well, Steve’s not updating but at least were getting 50% more content while he’s off.” Guess that didn’t work.

You know if you guys really do want more Dueling Analogs content I highly recommend donating to the Updated Everyday for a Month!. If the goal is met by the end of the year, I will update Dueling Analogs everyday for the entire month of January. Think about it. There are normally 2 Dueling Analogs a week and 52 weeks in a year. That’s 104 updates a year. This donation drive is giving you a chance to get 31 Dueling Analogs comics in one month. That’s almost 1/3 a year worth of content. I think that’s a pretty good deal. And on top of that everyone who donates gets a sneak preview of my new project before it’s hard launch next year.

Plus, if everyone who comes to the site and reads this comic today donates just $1USD the goal will be met with it the first few hours of the day. And trust me the donation drive is for a very good reason. Plus, there’s a special comic story that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. It would take too long to do under a normal update schedule, but it wouldn’t feel drug out if it updated everyday.

Update: I decided to include all sales on BigBoomBomb.com for the month of December in the grand total as well. That way if you just want to buy something instead of donating, you can do that as well.

Thanks, and it’s good to be back.

I have no idea why the Rock Monster Yellow Devil from Mega Man is in this comic. Just fun to draw I guess.

It’s really not that much of an insult that we prefer your comics to other peoples, is it?

I enjoyed the guest strips… I was mostly surprised of the awesome connection you had with a bunch of other artists and that so many did a guest strip for the anniversary. Sure, I prefer your comics, but guest strips are great as well.

And if people were getting anal about it then sod them!

I really enjoyed the guest strips. But it’s nice to have you back, as well.
It did go on longer than I thought it would, and longer than most sites do guest weeks or whatever. But I’m being entertained for free so…it’s a little silly to complain.

But it’s not silly that people who read your comic enjoy YOUR COMIC, and wanted it back. :)

I know, right? It can be such a burden for you to update your own site.

Steve, your butt is not getting enough sunlight – or some thorough scrubbing during your activities of sanitation/hygiene – if it is of that color.

Thanks,I’m losing my sight Pierski.Strip was funny regardless and yest the Yellow Devil does look fun to draw, especially when you have him saying lewd stuff like that.

I had no problem with the guest strips, they were thoroughly entertaining and considering we do get this content for free you deserve to have a break. Now I want you working your ass off next month cause once I see what my money is going to look like for the rest of the month I’m going to donate some cash.

I take a break from doing the comic every November. I run guest strips so that you, the readers, aren’t losing out on content. Dueling Analogs is not my full-time job. I already have a 40+ hour a week job. On top of that I have a wife, two daughters (one’s a baby and one’s a little girl), freelance web design/illustration and a new side project as well. So if I decide that I want to take a little down time once a year so that I don’t get burned out, I feel that I am more than justified to do so.

I actually really enjoyed the guest strips :) I’m always looking for new webcomics to read and have now added several of the guests’ comics to my online reading material.

And making us stare at an extreme blow-up of your turd-cutter was what, an extra way to blow off some steam? ;-)

So much this. It’s cool if you need a break, but coming here for updates and seeing crap drawn by other artists is like 8|

Then don’t come to the website in November then.

I personally don’t see the problem with guest comics. Escpecially when they’re of the calibur that Steve attracts. I think they were all particularly great this year.
