Nintendo Handheld Generations

Frederik Wiedel has melded various Nintendo products into an awesome animation. Really love the look and feel of this art direction.

Missing a few though, eh? I mean, you could argue that only the biggest hardware iterations were shown, but in that case, why have BOTH the GBA and GBA SP? If you go with the most lasting and profitable model (as he seemed to do when he chose the DS lite), then he probably should’ve gone with the SP (I think).

So if he DID include all iterations, he seems to be missing:
    - Gameboy Pocket (the first model shown looks like a small version of the original GB)
    - Gameboy micro (in the Advance line)
    - Nintendo DS (Original)
“Future Consoles” past the ones in his list, although I’m assuming this was made after most, if not all of them
    - DSi/XL
    - 3DS/XL

      Yep, we all noticed. ;P

I would argue they were chosen by artistic values, how they were fitting best. Which really went well.

Too bad he started at the gameboy, the best and most groundbreaking nintendo handhelds were prior to those :(
