A Visit to the Multiplex

While you wait for this evening’s new Dueling Analogs comic. Why not enjoy a guest strip that I did for Gordon McAlpin’s movie webcomic Multiplex and it just started running today, too.

I love doing guest strips. Why? Because as David Tekiela so eloquently explains in this guest strip he created for the outer circle, “You don’t have to follow canon!” Amen to that, brutha!

Brand New Comic At The Outer Circle

Honestly, this shouldn’t be newsworthy. But after a three month lull it deserves mentioning. There’s a brand new comic over at the outer circle. It’s the outer circle’s 949th comic (960th if you include the additional ones added to the trade paperback). That means there’s only fifty-one more comics until the outer circle is finished.

I’ve been procrastinating… a lot. But I’m torn between doing the right thing and ending it and not wanting it to finally end. Nonetheless I need to ramp up the creation of these strips so that I can no longer struggle with this conundrum and just come to terms with the aftermath.

Afterward, I would love to be able to collect all of the outer circle comics in a giant 400 page, full color, hardcover book. Unfortunately, it would cost me a lot more money than I can afford to spend to have it published. Maybe if I ever win the lottery or someone gives me the money, I might. But honestly, I see that as being the only way. I guess that’s what pipe dreams are for.

Nonetheless, I’m a little more motivated towards finally completing the outer circle. Make sure to check them out while they’re still fresh.

One More Reason Joe Dunn is Awesome

Joe Dunn, one of the coolest webcomic creators EVER and the creator of Joe Loves Crappy Movies one of the coolest webcomics EVER created, just released Joe Loves Crappy Movies: Volume 1 in trade paperback. I ordered two copies of the book. One for myself and one as a gift for Peekaboo’s birthday. Joe emailed me a copy of the artist sketch that he included inside the book for Peekaboo. It’s awesome and I wanted to share it here so you could see how awesome the sketch is as well. Thanks again, Joe.

Brand New Site Design is 2.0 at 4.0

I finally moved Dueling Analogs from my heavily modified version of Walrus over to Wordpress and a less heavily modified version of Comicpress, but drastically modified template design.

Personally, I’ve been working on this design for months now. Not so much the design aspect as the coding aspect of the process. The old Dueling Analogs site had a lot of SEO (search engine optimization) content on it that made it more accessible to search engine spiders to crawl. Wordpress was a whole different beast, so I had to either find or rewrite a lot of the old and new functionality that I wanted on the site to have. Also, being on Wordpress it will be much easier for people to comment on the comic and blog entries. This is a might wind up being a doubled-edged sword, but I think it will work out much better in the long run.

Also, the forum is back up. It’s no longer at “www.duelinganalogs.com/forum”, but “forum.duelinganalogs.com”. The site is set to automatically redirect you to it, but just in case you wanted to update your bookmarks you can.

So, as I said the new, version 4.0 technically, site design is up. It’s blue or as I like to call it “bluebastic”. And now, I sleep… figuratively, not literally.
