When I put this strip together, I did all of the character design and then watched the trailer from the movie to get the color palette and basis for the backgrounds. If I would have gone for more of a feel of the books, the artwork would have had white backgrounds and a more sketchy feel… personally I think this works best. Especially, with the really disturbing last panel of The Man with the Yellow Hat in the gimp suit… I’ve gotta think that’s sacrilege on some level, though I also found it funny.
