Ever since Otakon, my update schedule has been wonky at best. I’ve been posting some other interesting stuff that I’ve found around the net on the site to compensate, but the majority of you never scroll below the fold of the homepage (I have Google Analytics installed. Trust me I know these things). So since the news of Sonic CD being payable at PAX [1] are circulating around the internet. I decide to repost a personal favorite classic comic entitled Jason Todd Not Included.

Here’s hoping that my update schedule doesn’t get any worse after I attend Intervention Con in a few weeks.

Classic Dueling Analogs #10

Not too keen on running a classic Dueling Analogs comic today, but I’m heading up to Baltimore in a few hours for Otakon and really don’t want to leave a comic on the front page for a week. I swear…Making that Konami Code poster really drained the creative juice out of me. I’ve been jotting down a bunch of new ideas for comics, just have absolutely no motivation to create them at the moment. Maybe a weekend with the unclean convention patrons will give me the much needed boost of energy I need or at the very least con flu.

And just in case you’re looking for us at Otakon this weekend, I’ll be located here.

Classic Dueling Analogs #9

Wow, I can’t believe it’s actually been five years since I created this comic. I also want to note that this comic was made during my “it needs to be 100% vector” phase. I have since moved on from that to the “whatever medium best suits the joke and/or fits without me having to do a lot of extra work” phase.

The past weekend was Memorial Day weekend here in the United States. Spent it with the family and pretty much stayed away from computers as much as humanly possible during that time. Thought that putting a classic comic up would be a better alternative to just saying, “No comic on Monday. Come back on Thursday!” I had contemplated about doing a new consoles comic, but the polarizing opinions about them swayed me from that decision. Nonetheless, this comic being five years old means that a huge chunk of the people seeing this are now seeing it for the very first time. Dueling Analogs does have an archive section. Make sure to check it out.

Classic Dueling Analogs #8

Today is Valentine’s Day. So in honor of it, I decided to display a romantic comic that showed the true essence of love between a man and a woman. But since that comic was nowhere to be found, I decided to run this classic comic from March ’07 instead.

You know what the hardest part about doing a gaming webcomic is? Creating jokes that relate to video games… All the time. True, I make the occasional self-referencing joke, but that is still a joke that pertains to Dueling Analogs itself. Consider today me catching my breathe for a second, before I start jogging again.

Classic Dueling Analogs #7

I honestly don’t know what the majority of the readers think when I run a classic Dueling Analogs. Yeah, I get to hear from the regulars or those of you more comfortable about vocalizing your opinions when I ask. But when you think that Dueling Analogs averages tens of thousands of individual readers a day and there is usually only somewhere between 20-50 comments per comic, you quickly realize that the true voice of the majority isn’t being represented.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love reading and talking to those you who do respond and I’m not complaining that not enough people are responding, either. In fact, I can actually manage to read and keep up with all of your guys’ comments so this definitely falls into a manageable area. I’m just saying I don’t know what the majority of you think of them.

Personally, I would like this think that they are helpful. Why? Well, most people don’t read the archives. You start reading Dueling Analogs, or any webcomic honestly, at the point where you started and continue from there. How do I know? I’ve got Google Analytics and I actually know how to use it. So when I run a comic, like today’s, that originally ran almost four and a half years ago I’d like to think that the majority of you who have never seen it for the first time would enjoy it being brought to your attention. And for those of you who had already seen it that it brings back fond memories.

Now from a personally point of view, I do not like running classic comics. Makes me feel bad. Even if my reasons are completely justified, like now as I have been nasty sick all weekend, I just feel like I’m not pulling my weight as a comic creator. Regardless of whether or not you paid for this content, when you visit Dueling Analogs I want you to get your money’s worth (see what I did there?).
