Sorry for the delay with this comic. Had to go get a new mouse because my previous one’s laser was skipping to much to be affective. And I scrapped some of the artwork from the previous incarnation of this comic. Multiple hassles.

Lastly, the comic will be updating on Wednesday this week instead of Thursday as it “normally” does. Just giving a heads up.

Let’s give credit where credit is due… this comic was done by Clay Held who does the webcomic Kid Twisted. Doing a comic about Chrono Trigger was great. Doing a comic about a minor character, such as Gato, was even better… Gato and his damn punching bag. That mute punk Crono sure gave Gato what he had coming. Once again, this was done by Clay Held who does Kid Twisted.

Let’s see… Dueling Analogs was mentioned on BBC’s Collective column last week, I’ve got cool avatars and banners to pimp this site, and I’m on MySpace.com if you want to add me.

Oh, and for those of you that may not have gotten the previous strip… its not a pro-Sony comic, its an anti-mob mentality.

Mute Point

What is the deal with mute protagonists in video games? Does Crono never saying a word make Chrono Trigger better? Isn’t the freaky bug-eyed Link even freakier when he doesn’t say anything?

Let’s take Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City. In one corner, hailing from Liberty City you have the king of all mutes Claude Speed and in the other corner, another former Liberty City boy now making his home in Vice City Tommy Vercetti. Does the single fact that Tommy speaks over Claude make Vice City better, I think so. But then again the fact that Tommy is voice by Ray Liotta makes it even better than that.

Look, even if you’re not going to use actually audio voice overs for the characters, at least give them written dialog. This pantomiming crap is so 1975.
