I have to agree the LoL has one of the worst gaming communities imaginable. I’m one of the statistical anomalies, playing LoL at age 31. That fact that the game is free and it really is a high-quality game means it attracts the lowest of the low.

I seriously don’t mind rage-quitting as much as noob screamers. Screamers yell at you for their own misplays. At least rage quitters quit. Also, I’m skeptical about the reporting tool. I’ve been reported over imagined threats in games where the only thing I said was “going top” and “mia”. Also been reported for accepting a friend request. At least these clowns can’t teabag your corpse.

And heaven forbid, you get bored with your favorite character and want to play a character you’re not familiar with.

Yeah, LoL is notorious for foul mouthed brats, it’s the new XBox-Live… So that age statistic probably contains a huge 16yr old bubble. Rage quitting, noob screamers with superiority complexes all over the place. And that’s from someone who doesn’t touch ranked games. Tried some ranked games way back and was instantly cured of that. Even in all random matches you sometimes get those hyper angry types, its a bit disturbing really.

I don’t know about that 90% male stat though, casually perusing the forums made me believe its rather balanced but the smurf accounts will be largely made by the male users I think. It could very well be true.

That 12M users every day is an impressive lil stat btw. Just as the 3M average online users every day.

If those player numbers are right, that’s kind of scary and/or suspect. 85% between 16 and 30? That’s a rather large swath of ages. It makes it sound like 70% are between 16 and 20, 10% between 21 and 25, and 5% between 26 to 30, but they wanted to hide that fact. Combine it with the 90% male, and it could be a boast of ‘our playerbase is the worst gamer stereotype!’

Actually, even ignoring the age range funkiness, that highly uneven gender balance is throwing up red flags for me.

what the graph does not show is that of those 70 millions summoner names (players) over half are smurf accounts. The are roughly 3 smurf accounts per active account.Then the accounts that are not used are forgotten and not deleted so the player base is much larger than the actual number.
