Actually, I’m pretty excited to learn more about the Nintendo Wii’s successor – Wii U. But I wanted to throw this obvious logo modification on the net as soon as possible for the use of any potential naysayers.
Tim Buckley did the “Sony Pii” back in 2006 ( http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20060512 ), but with the “U” is really better
I think the controller is the stupidest looking thing possible. I mean, can you picture yourself playing Skyward Sword’s successor on that thing?
Yes I can. But the Wiimote+nunchuck combo is also fully compatible.
Besides, functionally speaking it looks like a Classic Controller… with a touchscreen.
A fucking huge classic controller with a touch screen and really low battery life.
Oh! I didn’t know you knew everything about it’s battery life. Also, since you also seem to know, tell me how the grip feels, you’ve obviously used it already, right?. Please do tell, how do you come about this information that you obviously didn’t ASSUME BY YOUR UNKNOWING SELF?
Yeah man, its the size of a friggin iPad almost. Im…not sure how well that will translate into playing more serious AAA titles. Which is what the whole point was..to get us hardcore gamers who never bought a Wii or into it to check it out
“us hardcore gamers”
i hate the way this term is being used to describe 12 year olds who haven’t heard of any system besides the current ones on the market.
You forgot to mention that they only play FPS games too!
I, myself, am very excited for the Wii U. I’ve cheered on Nintendo from the very beginning and the Wii U announcement has won over a few of my friends that only play hardcore titles so yeah.
Also, I don’t mind about the name, really. I didn’t care about it being called Wii to begin with. I might even only call it “U” once it’s out anyway.
personally, I welcome our new nintendo overlords. It reminds me of the old Dreamcast controller, which I liked.
Myself, being 6′ 6″, the controllers that are too large for other people (ie. Dreamcast or original Xbox controller) fit perfectly in my hands. So this seems like it will be ideal for me.
I’m in the same boat as you, that’s why I was so happy when I saw the Wii U controller yesterday morning.
The opposite can also be said. I’m 5’2″ and female. The original Xbox and Dreamcast were HELL to play. That being said, I’m not quite sure how to perceive this new remote. Good to the gaming world (real gamers, not casual), or a pain in the neck…
When I see Wii-U, this is what I hear:
A bunch of commentors at the link have already drawn the comparison.
