I’m sure the hate train is going to reach the station soon (and rightfully so), but first let me get this word in: If you can remove all of the sappy teen romance, the remaining 10% of the series is actually pretty good. The mythos and relationships between the factions can, at times, feel like it makes watching the movies worth it.
TL;DR Twilight sucks.

I am completely unashamed about wanting more fiction in the pokemon universe done by professional authors, if it is published, I will buy it!

Perhaps you should hit up the Nuzlocke forums. There are LOADS of high-quality story and comic runs, that do something unique with the premise of the world of Pokémon.
