The Essentials of My Childhood

While I enjoy this animated GIF, I cannot fake solidarity with results of playing video games. In fact, I was probably left alone to play video games as much as I was because my grades were never an issue. AND especially not with math. Math is friggin’ awesome!

My two strongest subjects have always been art and math. And while these two couldn’t be any more different, they do add necessary balance to my mind. Art is completely subjective. Someone can shove a cross in a jar of urine and call it art. In the end, it’s all up to the individual. Math, on the other hand, is always consistent. 2 + 2 will always equal 4. Every time!

Everything else in school were simply too many shades of gray for me to enjoy, but the rules of math and art have always been black and white.

    1 + 1 = 2

    1 + 1 = 10

    1 + 1 = 11

My childhood would have been NES controller morphing into Genesis controller morphing into Lego bricks.
