Gotta Catch ‘Em All?
I always thought it would be an interesting idea if RPGs had a finite amount of each species. So as you catch or defeat creatures their value and scarcity changes accordingly.

YOU TOO! Wow, I thought I was alone in the world on that. I love the idea of having a finite number or creatures. Good lesson on over hunting.

That’s actually a really great idea. I would love to see that made into a game.

This leads to the obvious action of catching enough to breed and slaughtering the rest. Somewhat immoral, no?

And should there not be a finite number? Over breading is always a problem. Next thing you will know, Bob Barker will be doing PSAs for Pokemon.

I agree. I hate it when my food is breaded too much.

NetHack has something similar: kill 240 of the same kind of monster and it will become extinct, and you will never see another one.

I don’t remember exactly but I think I’ve seen one flash game like that. But it would definitely be an awesome concept.
