Gaming Avatars of Equality

Gaming Equality Avatars

by Steve Napierski to Images

Right now in the North America, the Supreme Court of the United States is discussing the matter of same sex marriage. All over the social media networks, people are showing their support for gay marriage by changing their avatars to a pink equal symbol on a red background which symbolizes equality. And what about me? Well, I just made a whole bunch of gaming versions of the avatars because I thought it would be fun. Enjoy.

Update: The avatars are now 240 x 240 so they are more widely accepted by social media sites.

They're beautiful, but need to be tweaked to 180 px before Facebook will let you use them.

Facebook can't do animated gifs for avatars, right?

That's correct. That is also why for a fraction of a second before each animation starts it displays the final frame of the animation. So they are still usable when animation is not an option.

Actually, the real opposite would be an “=” with a “/” through it. (keyboard won’t let me do it though, but in mathematics it means “not equal to”.) Also, to anyone who is against gay marriage, you should watch this.

Typical gay supporters, everything is valid except those who disagree with you.

It’s not so much that we think beliefs opposed to ours are invalid; that would be very hypocritical.

It’s just that coming here and saying “Nice avatars, now may I have some to oppose equal rights?” is being an asshole, no matter how you look at it.
