Frames per Second [ IMAGE ]

This is memorizingly cool. Makes me long for a television with a higher refresh rate even more.

Side note, am I the only one who thinks that big Hollywood blockbuster movies at a higher frame rate makes them look cheaper? I remember when I saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey at 48fps and thought it looked like someone filmed it with their handycam. The sets felt cheaper and everything was just less…impressive.

Now video games, on the other hand, at higher frame rates make the experience even better. I remember watching a video on Gamespot recently about 4K gaming. That was cool and all, but it was when they discussed how the overclocked frame rate changed the gaming experience that caught my attention.

Long live higher frame rates…except for in traditional animation, because that’s just expecting too damn much.
