Evolution of the Xbox and Playstation Controllers

I’m going to give GadgetLove props for some awesome looking animated GIFs. It’s pretty cool to see the Xbox and Playstation controllers morphing between their different console iterations. That said, I do feel that took the easy road by not also including all the Nintendo controllers.

With the Xbox and Playstation controllers, you are only morphing between four different controllers. For the Xbox there is the Xbox (Duke), Xbox (S-Type), Xbox 360, and Xbox One. With the Playstation you have Playstation 1, 2, 3, and 4. BUT with Nintendo you have the Nintendo Entertainment System, NES2, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii (Wiimote), Wii (classic controller), and Wii U. It’s a lot harder, isn’t it? They should actually create a few different versions since Japan had the Famicom and the west had the NES, and the North America version of the Super Nintendo was different from the rest of the world. So if I had to guess correctly, that’s three different versions all together. Right?

Regardless, I’m not going to be the one to make it. So I have no problem putting expectations, whether they are reasonable or unreasonable, on GadgetLove of what I want them to create. Git ‘er done.

I rather got the impression that its… analog nubs… dropped at last. That was about when the PS1 started experiencing all sorts of changes, after all.
