Legend of Pandora

Legend of Pandora

by Steve Napierski to Games

Legend of Pandora is a fun little Zelda clone. I honestly think my gripes with the game are minimal: I wish they let you use the arrows keys as well as the WASD, I wish the game wasn’t so tall (doesn’t work as well on laptops) and I wish there was more original sprites instead of just Gameboy Zelda sprites. But as I say, those are minimal gripes.

Under options you can change the controls to be the arrow keys if you want.

And for the "Tallness", you can use the mouse wheel+ctrl to zoom a bit away to get all the screen in view.

    Well…SHIT!

Played it for a little bit, up till I found this girl asking for a Strength Ring, and I won’t go any further because I’m sick of having to constantly scroll every time I move! The game is too fucking big for the screen, in order to even see half the game I had to close the Menu, Navigation and Bookmark Toolbars on my browser!!!

Never mind about the size, just learned how to use ctrl+scroll wheel to change the size.

Made it to Windy Village, but the enemies are tough, take dozens of hits, and weapon upgrades are expensive. I managed to buy a Wealth Ring, says I earn 10% more money, but I don’t see it making much difference. Putting skill points in the Money skill doesn’t seem to do much either. And putting points in the Student Skill says I earn more XP, but I don’t see any change, the Octorock things only give 1 XP and the Zombies are like 4 XP I think.

I have no idea what I am doing, wasn’t my character just suppose to get a newspaper for his grandpa? What’s my character doing running around slashing stuff anyway? Didn’t he say he hates people at the beginning, which is why he lives up in the mountains away from everyone with his grandpa?

Wow. Most disappointing ending I’ve had in a while. The game is not finished and ends with a “To Be Continued…” Don’t waste the hours of your life to play this game.

Quite fun, but silly, repetitive, buggy, and not very well thought through.

Ended up with 14k HP, did about 580-720 damage with my sword.

    Didn’t try the bow.

A few bosses would really have improved it.

How were you doing 720! I finally just finished and I was only doing 350-400, but then I didn’t know what I was doing and spread my skill points around evenly. It took forever fighting these Yellow Crabs (they looked green to me) to earn enough money for this golden sword, it was like 45000 coin, said it was the strongest sword in the game. Shit was taking 20 hits to kill before I bought it and after they took 6-10 hits, still annoying. I too had a bazillion HP and the strongest Potion only heals 150 hp.

And at the end they have the nerve to beg for money so they can make the next game “with awesome graphics”, fuck that the graphics were fine! It’s everything else that pissed me off. Enemies were too tough, weapons were too expensive, everything dropped shit for cash. And what was my motivation? To find out why the newspaper wasn’t delivered! If it were me after checking in town and finding out the reason the newspaper wasn’t delivered is because of monsters I’d say “Well…not my problem” and GO HOME!

Doesn’t work for me. When I select the savegame slot, the screen just keeps fading to black and back to the select screen.
