I’m not actually sure whether this would cause me not to oversleep or just not to use my iPhone as an alarm clock anymore. Maybe I will just put the phone in a drawer so I can’t hear it.

I’ve never used the snooze function. I also oversleep quite frequently.
Take from that what you will.

The solution could be a whack-a-mole type alarm with a snooze button that bounces around the screen. Although, that may end up with the phone bouncing off the wall.

You can actually get alarm clocks like that. They’re basically puzzle boxes where you have to be at least semi-awake to solve and stop the thing from buzzing. Unfortunantly as a teenager I got used to waking up and resuming my game from before I went to bed, so I’m actually pretty good at doing that stuff without breaking the wake up barrier.
What I found worked great when I used to have to get up at 5:30 for work was putting the alarm clock in the bathroom. It was still loud enough to wake me but I’d have to get out of bed to turn it off, and then by the time I’d turned it off I was closer to the shower than the bed.

There are apps where you can make it so you gotta do math to shut it off. You can choose how many questions, difficulty, etc.

If I had something like this I would dismiss it and fall asleep. i always set like 5 alarms on my phone. Last 2 make me do math to shut it off.

My friend has the alarm that is a tiny battery powered helicopter. When the alarm goes off, the helicopter flies around the room making a loud siren noise.

This looks like a terrible idea.
*Alarm*
*presses Dismiss*
*goes back to sleep*
or the better solution:
*Alarm*
*Presses snooze*
*goes back to sleep for 5-10 minutes*
*Alarm*
*Will probably wake up this time*

Make dismiss cost, not snooze.

I took dismiss to mean like dismiss the popup about paying, not dismissing the alarm.
