This reminds me less of the NES and more of an old Atari instruction manual/box art. The games themselves had such extremely limited graphics that you needed to use other illustrative means to explain what you were actually playing.
That actually is a really interesting idea… The goddesses are the ones who started this cycle of destruction in Hyrule. They are the true villains; they are who Link needs to defeat. Return to the past, and put a stop to the creation of the Triforce. Put a stop to the power struggles, and kill the goddesses.
Shadow of the Colossus-style battles, dungeon crawls, and a whole lot of existentialism. It would feature Link traversing a world that is being changed in the future as he strips away the divine power of the goddesses in the past. Hyrule will change as the goddesses and their servants fall, and ultimately, Hyrule will cease to exist.
I want to play this game now.
You make a few good points, but from what I understand, those 3 goddesses didn’t just create the kingdom of Hyrule, but the world in which it exists; therefore as careless as they may be, I couldn’t call them villains, personally. As well; the game idea seems way too depressing, and I don’t see how it could end well.
Link becomes gods makes the world the same with one diffrence the humans and chickens switch spots so when a chicken attacks him a flock of links come and attack.
Reminds me very much of this comic: http://www.dorkly.com/comic/52414/zeldashock-infinite
“What a mischievous thing to leave lying around… the power of the gods…. Triforce”
