Rejected Mega Man Villains XII

Rejected Mega Man Villains XII

Rejected Mega Man Villains XII

by Steve Napierski to Comics

Wow, the last time I posted a Rejected Mega Man Villains was May of ’08. Didn’t realize it had been that long. Want to catch up on the previous incarnations? Well, you can find them all right here.

So yeah, Wiki Man has already appeared in a previous Rejected Mega Man Villains. But without him next to Rip-off Man, the joke just doesn’t make sense. Steampunk Man is on the actual poster and Point & Click Man is a custom villain that never appeared on this site before. In fact, Point & Click Man is the first villain that was not 100% vector and was digitally colored in Photoshop rather than Illustrator. Just thought you’d like to know.

I really miss creating these. Anyone who knows me or reads Dueling Analogs knows I am a huge Mega Man fan. I’m thinking I might bring the Rejected Mega Man Villains back to life. Maybe update the poster from being 18″ x 24″ to 24″ x 36″ and load it up with 15 or 20 brand new villains, as well. What do you think?

Update: I wanted to mention that this comic was mentioned on the official Capcom blog. Very cool! Now if only we can convince Capcom to let me design an actual robot master for one of the new Mega Man incarnations. That would be so friggin’ awesome.

No no no no no… What you should have drawn for “Rip-Off Man” was Bass. That would’ve been more or less self-explanitory! (For people who know the game anyway. X3)

Aw man, I already had to take stuff down to put the first Rejected poster up, now you’re doing a bigger one? You’re killing me!

Really like the Steampunk Man. Artwork is detailed, and of course, filled with phallic images. Lol

I don’t get the Rip-Off Man joke. Yeah he’s the same as Wiki Man. Is it a commentary on the ease with which Wikipedia is plagiarized for use in college papers?

On the surface, he is what it says he is, a rip-off, completely copying someone else.

Although Steve may indeed have intended a secondary meaning akin to what you mentioned, you can also just take it at face value.

I’d play a game with all Steve’s characters. Though they’d probably have to keep it behind the register at Gamestop…
