I know this is referencing a particular JRPG franchise, but for the life of my I cannot figure out which one. Hmm…
I think it’s referencing Dragon Quest.
I’m gonna have to resepctfully disagree with you on account that they don’t look like Dragon Ball (Z/GT)characters.
Which is the (admittedly probably petty) reason I’ve never given those games a chance. Hate that art style (and show, but that’s a different can of worms).
It’s more than just the art style. While I appreciated DQ1-4, the games never bothered to advance at a pace that many other series did. Even the later games had the same tired mechanics. The sin of looking like DBZ just adds to the pain.
Petty you say? If you guys are assuming Toriyama (original designs) was responsible for the direction DBZ/GT/etc(?) went, I suppose petty could apply. It’d be like blaming Stan Lee for what [superhero] did in [deviant comic] though, or blaming Rick Astley for rickrolling.
But missing out on Chrono Trigger over him would be a whole different level of misplaced resentment. It is highly advisable that you guys set aside petty cosmetics and give that title a chance, for your own sake.
As for DQ: I’unno, haven’t played, give me a 28-hour day and I’ll gladly play them all.
Earthbound. Gotta be Earthbound.
Super Mario Bros.?
Last Story, obviously.
‘Leather Goddesses of Phobos’ is my guess.
The zipper got me!
Adventure for Atari 2600! That’s clearly the box art.
