A wordless yonkoma? This is something I would expect to see on Omake Theater. Hmm…

I’ve shared countless video game mashups on Dueling Analogs over the years and I’m still surprised that Nintendo has not taken full advantage of merging two of their popular franchises to create one brand new “original” IP. Sure, there’s the Smash Bros. series, but just think of the PR Nintendo could have if they created a game where Mario and Link trade places and Link has to save the Mushroom Kingdom while Mario rescues Hyrule. There are definitely a lot of opportunities here.

Brawl in the Family recently did a Mario/Zelda mashup comic, only in their version it was Bowser and Ganondorf who switched places. Part 1 at http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2014/02/14/545-divide-by-hero-part-1/

I don’t think Mario would do well in Hyrule, honestly. Not too many enemies defeatable by simply jumping on them in the Zelda world.

Link, on the other hand, would do WONDERFULLY in Mushroom Kingdom. Peach would “magically” forget about Mario’s existence, and Link would have 2 new princess girlfriends! (pretty sure Daisy never cared for Luigi to begin with…..)

And I’m glad there’s no such thing as a Luigi’s Mansion/Pokemon crossover game. One word: Giratina. *shudders*
