Look. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, a.k.a. E3, is currently underway at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. Every year we get new promises and hype that turn out to be nothing more than a bag of lies and puff. So this year, let’s try to keep things in perspective. This comic is a pretty good starting point for that.

I tend to find that, the more the trailers for a given coming title feature cutscenes over gameplay, the less actual fun the end product turns out to be. So when Sony’s conference was basically 90% gameplay-free vanity-shot trailers and 10% really generic-looking gameplay footage, I was just a little bit leery… Though to be fair, after seeing the Ubisoft conference, I realized that Sony got a pretty bad cut of at least one of those game’s previews. Still haven’t seen the MS conference, though I’ve heard it was better, and Nintendo as ever stole the show on the “actually show you what the gameplay is like” front as they always do.
