Chell Out

by Steve Napierski to Comics

Due to time constraints I am very fortunate to be able to rerun one of the gaming themed yonkoma from Omake Theater‘s Friday 4Komas today. It was a pretty popular strip for the site, but I’m willing to bet the odds that most of you have never seen it before. And if you did? Well, it’s still a worth another look.

And don’t forget to visit Omake Theater since there’s lots of other fun comics to check out on the site, as well. So please do.

Both knots are towards Chell. This shouldn’t be able to work. MY BRAINS

But this would be pretty awesome to do

Now think about the fact that it’s really only one knot. Mind. Blown.

I think that she tied it to itself. Clever.

How did she get it to stay in one side of the portal long enough to reach the other, and was the other end of the blanket/hammock still in her arm’s reach?

If it’s long enough, just leave one side dangling through the portal and walk to the other side and tie it to itself.

Given the fact that the drawing proves that it’s long enough to reach from wall to wall, it’s then obviously long enough to reach from center to wall and via the portal the other wall back to center. She ties it up to itself, then moves the knot towards the portal, since as part of the wall, it can hang up higher then it was at any place else on the wall.

        Hammock hung.

Mind = Blown. Gotta love what Science can do with a willing Portal.

Why does she look like she is in pain in the last panel?

She probably can’t get to sleep with GLaDoS constantly insulting her.

So it’s only one knot, right?
But if the sides that are used to do the knots are able to touch, then the thingie should be bigger – To the point where it touches the floor.
Either that, or she has extremely long arms. Which I find very hard to believe, based on visual evidence.

Omake Theater is awesome! ^_^. What I’d like to know is how long do the portals stay open for? I only got to play the demo so I don’t know if it’s permanent or not. It’d be funny if in the middle of the night they closed and she fell on the ground :P.

And of course it’s a girl using the portals for something so practical. Us guys… well, we’d find a way to put the portals to use that’s definitely not as intended…

It would certainly give a new meaning to “glory hole”.
