That movie wishes it was the space dances with wolves, Dances With Wolves had a compelling plot and engaging characters.
Avatar was too simple and too surface. Sure, the 3d stuff looked amazing and so did the world they created but you have to back that up with writing that makes us care about the beautiful things you are showing us and Avatar just did not do that.
I guarantee it won’t make anyone’s “best 100″ list.
