A few more games that I am glad were never made… [ COMIC ]

Games that I am glad were never made… What can I say about this besides that they are games that I’m glad were never made? It’s a fun gimmick that I’ve abused a lot less than the Rejected Mega Man Villains.

First off,Tweed Suit Tingle is a parody of the Leisure Suit Larry series written by Al Lowe and published by Sierra. I originally wanted the subtext on this cover to said “In Hot Water, Again!”, but if this was the first game in the series again wouldn’t really work. My only explanation for this is putting Tingle in another game is always going to be a bad idea.

Next, You don’t know Jack Thompson is a parody of You don’t know Jack. Do you really want to play a game where you can learn more about Jack Thompson? Me neither.

(I just want to note that the game company “Seer”, which is a parody of Sierra from the first two game parodies, is taken from Dominic Deegan’s profession Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire. I’m currently reading Dominic Deegan Volume Two: ECSTASY and EVIL and I think it’s just stuck in my brain. You should get a copy, it’s a fun read.)

Lastly, E.T. Returns to Earth is a “sequel” to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial for the Atari 2600 and is the most evil game that was EVER made. Not because it was the worst Atari 2600 game ever, but because it caused the video game crash of 1983 (definitely worth the read). While clicking links, don’t forget to check out an earlier Dueling Analogs comic where I took a shot at this game, too.

Quick links back to the previous Games that I am glad were never made…. Here’s the first one, the second one, the third one, the fourth one and the fifth one… I didn’t even realize that it had been over eight months since the last one of these until I was working on this one.
