Super Mario Galaxy 2 has Whomp’s Fortress
That’s right, kiddies! Super Mario Galaxy 2 has a new world straight out of the Nintendo 64 hay days: Whomp’s Fortress. Watching the video of this world is both cool and surreal. But seeing the updated characters and polished look of the level gives me a craving for Nintendo to give this exact same treatment to the original Super Mario 64. Video after the bump.

On some stages, Mario can find an egg, smash it open and hop onto the back of Yoshi. Yoshi can use his tongue to grab items and shoot them back at enemies, or to snag attach points and swing across chasms. Exciting, huh? I can’t wait!
