Guest Strip by Jen Brazas

Tomorrow is the four year anniversary of Dueling Analogs. As I’ve been doing since the second year anniversary of Dueling Analogs I’m running guest strips when the yearly event comes up. It’s a gift of downtime for me without missing any updates. Should be running for a few weeks with three comics a week running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the celebration. Still waiting on a few more guest strips to arrive, so I can’t give you an exact ending date. But once they all arrive, or don’t, I will know.

Today’s guest strip is done by the equally talented and adorable creator of Mystic Revolution Jen Brazas. Thanks Jen, you’re awesome.

And don’t forget to come back on Wednesday for more guest strip celebration love.

Someone else’s art colored by me…

I did a coloring job on a piece of artwork of the character She from the webcomic Fajita done by Ryan Thompson. If you want to see what the original piece looks like it’s located here and the colored version is located on deviantART. Had a lot of fun coloring it.

New PEGI Descriptors

What is PEGI? Well, PEGI (Pan-European Game Information) is the equivalent of the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) here in the US. Where this entity supplies the video game rating system that is used throughout most of Europe and elsewhere.

Now PEGI goes one step further that just giving an appropriate age, but also uses these things called descriptors to make consumers aware of what content is contained within their potential purchase. Said descriptors are “Bad Language”, “Discrimination”, “Drugs”, “Fear”, “Gambling”, “Sex”, “Violence” and “Online”.

Unfortunately, I feel that PEGI could have used a few more descriptors that consumers would definitely benefit from knowing about.

Interview with The Xcentrikz

I recently conducted an interview with The Xcentrikz. Oddly enough it had very little to do with Dueling Analogs and was mostly about the outer circle. It was a fun change of pace and I feel the interview turned out pretty good as well. If you get a chance, definitely check it out.

ConnectiCon 2009 Recap

As always, ConnectiCon (kə-nĕt’ĭ-kŏn) treated us awesomely. Matt and George made life easy and I think the layout of the program turned out well. During the weekend I was either working at the table or hanging out with various webcomic people. The working part was just that, sitting at the table working. So here are the people I got to talk to and hang out during the other parts (I hope I didn’t leave anyone out)…

Playing Final Fantasy X-2 for Charity (the only good reason)

Starting Friday July 17th, TheSpeedGamers started a week long marathon. They are planning on playing through most of the Final Fantasy games (currently on Final Fantasy VII). They are doing this crazy marathon to make money for ACT Today an Autism charity. They started out with a goal of $20,000, and have already surpassed it! Currently they have raised $25,582 of their new goal of $50,000. So head on over there and see what’s going on.
